Please join us on Saturday, March 25 10:30AM we will be featuring a free vocal workshop to the community with Dr. Garineh Avakian (LA Master Chorale Vocalist; Professor) as our lecturer. We are reaching out to fellow vocalists, sacred music enthusiasts, community, and academic organizations in an effort to promote our event as well as our non-profit. All our events are free and our past class offerings are documented online.
The event will be held at the Sheen Memorial Chapel on the Ararat Home & Museum complex in Mission Hills, CA.

Experience a floor to ceiling spectacle as you embark on a visual and musical journey of da Vinci's life including world-renowned masterpieces “The Mona Lisa” and “The Last Supper”. This fantastical journey into the many phases of Leonardo’s expansive contribution to history, art, and technology has been reimagined alongside exciting visual animations and custom soundtrack - to bring a man from the 1400’s into the wondrous future of today.

We invite visitors to our Calm Morning program on Saturday, March 25, from 9am to 1pm, with a focus on Foley art inspired by the film Singin’ in the Rain (1952). ASL interpretation will be provided.
SCHEDULE:
9–10am | Early Gallery Access
Explore the Stories of Cinema exhibition, particularly the Sound gallery, on Level 2, where sound and lighting adjustments will be made for a more sensory-friendly viewing experience.
10–11am | Family Workshop
Visit the Shirley Temple Education Studio on the museum’s Lower Level for a family workshop inspired by Singin’ in the Rain (1952). This film is about a group of movie stars and filmmakers from the silent era who need to update their films to incorporate sound with the innovation of the “talkies,” also known as sound films. Families can explore Foley art, using different objects to create sounds that match up with the actions in the movie!
In addition to the Calm Morning program, we encourage visitors to attend our accommodative, open-caption screening of Singin’ in the Rain at 11am in the Ted Mann Theater. The screening is part of our weekly Family Matinees film series. A separate admission ticket is required.
The Shirley Temple Education Studio will remain open during the screening as a space for relaxation and continued art making until 1pm.
